Abstract Submission Instructions
 
Deadline of abstract submission is 31 December 2003
Please note that abstracts will only be considered for presentation after receipt of the Registration Form and registration fee.
 
Please read all the enclosed instructions carefully before completing the Abstract Form
 
I.
Sending Your Abstract

You may submit your Abstract via our website at: www.snha.org with effect from end of December 2002

Alternatively, you may complete and return the enclosed Abstract Submission Form, page A1 along with 3 photocopies of the form and a floppy disk to:

The 3rd APCH has been approved for CME credit points by the Singapore Medical Council.
   
 
II.
General Policies
   
1.
The Scientific Programme Committee of the 3rd APCH solicits the submission of abstracts for oral and poster presentation. Abstracts should describe original, unpublished work or not be awaiting possible acceptance by any other societies. Abstracts should be submitted on the enclosed form, accompanied by 3 photocopies. Authors may submit a maximum of three (3) abstracts as principal author. There is no limit on co-authorship. Abstracts must be written in English only.
   
2.
Notification
The presenting author of each accepted abstract will be notified in early January 2004. If the presenting author is unable to present the abstract, another co-author can take his/ her place.
   
3.
Payment
All presenters are required to register for the 3rd APCH and pay the corresponding registration fee. Payment of registration fees and hotel 1-night deposit before 30 Oct 2003 is required for the abstract to be published.
   
4.
Withdrawal/Changes
Submitted abstracts cannot be withdrawn or changed. No exceptions will be made.
   
   
III.
Abstract Submission
   
 
1.
Abstract submission can only be done via Internet, or on a floppy disk via regular mail. Abstracts received by fax will not be reviewed.
   
2.
Abstract Submission via Internet
Please submit your abstract on line effect from end December 2002. We kindly request you to read the instructions carefully, as the abstract should be submitted exactly according to these instructions.
   
3.
Abstract Submission on a Floppy Disk via Regular Mail
You may submit your abstracts on a floppy disk, following exactly the instructions given. Use a 31/2 -inch-IBM-formatted diskette. The floppy disk must be sent to the Scientific Committee, accompanied by a completed Abstract Submission Form (which is enclosed in this announcement). The preferred format is Microsoft Word for Windows. All floppy disks must be labeled with the main author’s name, the institution and the Word process type. The same diskette may be used for more than one abstract. For each abstract submitted, remember to include three paper copies of all the abstract information requested on page A1 of the Abstract Submission Form.
   
   
IV.
Instruction for Preparing Abstracts
   
1.
Abstract must be typed and laser-printed, within a frame given below using Times New Roman font no smaller than 10 points. It must contain no more than 300 words. Print must be sharp, clear and regular. Dot-matrix printers should be avoided. Text must be single-spaced and not overrun the borders of the frame.
   
2.
Abstract should comprise the following elements, with each element beginning a new paragraph: Title/Authors/Address/and Abstract text.

The abstract title, authors and address should each appear as a separate paragraph. The abstract text should also be one paragraph. The abstract title should be in CAPITAL letters, Abbreviations should, if possible, be avoided in the title. Title should be brief and indicated concisely the nature of the presentation.
   
4.
Authors’ name should be supplied in the surname-last format and in initial capital/lower case, not all capitals. If there are initials, full points or spaces should be inserted between them (i.e., B.A. Morgan). Do not include degrees or professional designations (i.e., Prof., Dr., M.D., etc.). Names of the presenting author must be in bold letters.
   
5.
Authors’ institutional affiliations should be indicated with superscript symbols or numbers. Tables, figures and references should be avoided. If necessary, they can be included in the text of the abstract. Use standard abbreviations and generic drug names. Place unusual abbreviations or acronyms in parentheses after first use.
